Assurances have come from the chairman of the Sharks FC supporters' club, Isaiah Ogolo regarding better security at their ground.

Ogolo told naijafootball247.com that he has a plan to ensure that the ground is safe when the season starts on March 7, 2015.

“First, I am chairman of the Sharks supporters club and these a group of decent people, who are registered wear uniforms and support the club before during and after games.

“Our membership has increased especially in the last one year and we have many more coming to join up. Before now some of us used to insult the referees or invade the pitch but all those things are past,” Ogolo said.

Ogolo added that no one can try to do anything funny on match days.

“I tell them in our weekly meetings that the League Management Company, LMC has put a lot of things in place to ensure grounds are safe and my people know that they must behave themselves at the stadium because we will do ourselves more harm than good if we cause trouble during matches.”

He assured fans and lovers of good football that they should turn out in their numbers to watch the team play this season.

“These days nobody wants to harm anyone. The time of harming people at the stadium is past. A lot of people come to the stadium to watch Sharks play.

“If not for that little crisis between area boys (street urchins) of Enyimba and those of Sharks last season, the stadium was very peaceful all through.

“All those things are behind us now and we do not envisage they will happen again this season,” Isaiah Ogolo said.

Sharks coach, Gbenga Ogunbote was beaten up and hospitalized for three days after unknown gunmen attacked him after a training session at the Sharks FC Stadium on Wednesday.

Captain of the team, Odinga Odinga was also manhandled on the same day.
