Fans of Enyimba FC will see their team play at the Enyimba International Stadium in Aba from next season if words of the club chairman are anything to go by.
Club chairman, Felix Anyansi Agwu told Naijafootball247.com that Enyimba could have done better in the CAF Champions League this year if they played their home games in Aba.
“Nigerian sides are very good but the experience in African has taught us a big lesson that we must plat from home.
“All the matches we drew and lost may have been different,” Anyani said.
“As soon as possible we will be back in Aba. I think the work is almost eighty percent done and we hope to return home as soon as possible.
Anyansi Agwu disclosed that there are lots of factors at play in the completion of work at the stadium so he cannot be more specific on when they return to their stadium.
“I am not the engineer so I cannot be specific on dates but all I can say now if that from what I have been told by those directly involved in the job, we will return home as soon as possible.”
Enyimba started the season playing their league matches at the Umuahia Township Stadium and their CAF Champions League games at the Adokiye Amiesimaka stadium.
At the half way stage of the league they shifted their home ground for the league to the Yakubu Gowon Stadium in Port Harcourt
